'Dark Knight' sets box office record with $66.4M

Batman's joust with the Joker has set another box office record. Stoked by fan fever over the manic performance of the late Heath Ledger as the Joker, "The Dark Knight" set a one-day box office record with $66.4 million on opening day, Warner Bros. head of distribution Dan Fellman said Saturday.

The movie beat the previous record of $59.8 million set last year by "Spider-Man 3. Thats amazing, Im so happy for all of them, especially heath. Im sure he did a great job, thats right I havent seen it, but should do.

1.”The Dark Knight,” $155 million
2.”Mamma Mia!,” $27 million
3.”Hancock,” $14 million
4.”Journey to the Center of the Earth,” $11.9 million
5.”Hellboy II: The Golden Army” $10 million
6.”WALL-E,” $9.8 million
7.”Space Chimps,” $7.3 million
8.”Wanted,” $5 million
9.”Get Smart,” $4 million
10.”Kung Fu Panda,” $1.7 million

  1. You haven't seen it?! You gotta do better hun!

  2. It was amazing! You've got to see it!

  3. I definitely plan to go see this movie. So far 'The Incredible HULK' is my favorite 2008 movie; perhaps the 'Dark Knight' will run a close second to the big green guy.
