"In a Perfect Word" Sells 93,819 copies and Lands #4 For Keri Hilson

So the sales figures of Keri Hilson's album "In a Perfect World" are in, It sold a staggering 93,819 copies in its first week, which lands her at #4 on this weeks Billboard 200.

With the current state of the music industry, I wasn't even expecting her to push half of that figure. To me, that's a very good number, considering this is her first album. Congrats to her, I hope the figures continue to soar.

Below are pictures from Keri's "In A Perfect World" Album Release Party at Opera on in Hollywood.

BIllboard News: Britney Spears Top Charts!

According to Billboard.com, Britney Spears has scored another number one album selling over 500,000 with her studio effort, Circus. Here's a quote from the article:

As expected, Britney Spears' "Circus" makes a big bow at the top of The Billboard 200, becoming her fifth No. 1. The Jive set moved 505,000 copies in the United States, making Spears the only act in Nielsen SoundScan history to have four albums debut with 500,000 or more. Since SoundScan began tracking data in 1991, only four acts -- aside from Spears -- have notched three 500,000-starts: 2Pac, 50 Cent, Garth Brooks and Jay-Z. Previously, her second, third and fourth sets all racked up half-million weeks: 2000's "Oops! I Did It Again" started with 1.3 million, 2001's "Britney" debuted with 746,000 and 2003's "In the Zone" entered the chart with 609,000. Among female artists, only four have earned more No. 1 albums: Barbra Streisand (eight), Madonna (seven) and Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson (both with six). On the Billboard Hot 100 to be released tomorrow, Spears scores her first top 10 debut as the set's title cut debuts at No. 3. The song, which she performed live on ABC's "Good Morning America" the day "Circus" hit retail, opens at No. 1 on Hot Digital Songs with 212,000 downloads. With her former No. 1 single "Womanizer" at No. 10 on the Hot 100, Spears places two tracks simultaneously in that chart's top 10 for the first time in her career.

That's a good look for Brit! She's set to go on tour in the U.S very soon, and word is those tickets are selling like crazy.

T.I & RihannaTop The Charts With "Live Your Life"//Makes Billboard History

Photobucket

T.I. earns his third straight No. 1 on The Billboard 200 as "Paper Trail" debuts at the top this week. The rapper earns his biggest sales week ever with the Grand Hustle/Atlantic set, which moved 568,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, which is also the third-biggest sales frame of the year.

T.I. also has a big week over on the Hot 100, where he breaks the record for largest climb to No. 1 -- a feat he already accomplished only six weeks ago. "Live Your Life" featuring Rihanna, the second single from "Paper Trail," leaps 80-1, replacing the album's first single "Whatever You Like" at No. 1; the latter leapt to the top 71-1 the week of Sept. 6 and remained there for five weeks total. That makes this T.I. the first artist to replace himself at No. 1 since Usher traded in "Burn" for "Confessions Part II" in July 2004.

Thats whats up, T.I is the man and is doing it big this time round. The video for "Live Your Life" is currently being shot, and as of now, has no premiere date.

Billboard News::Young Jeezy Tops The Charts,New Kids On The Block Enter at #2, Donnie Klang #19

Young Jeezy claims his second chart-topper on the Billboard 200 as "The Recession" starts at No. 1 this week. The Def Jam set moved 260,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, 92,000 short of the 352,000-unit start for his previous No. 1, 2006's "The Inspiration."

For the first time in 14 years, the newly reunited New Kids On The Block enters the chart with "The Block" (Interscope) at No. 2 with 95,000. The album was led by the single "Summertime," which has moved 505,000 digital copies and peaked at No. 36 on the Hot 100. The band's last studio effort, 1994's "Face the Music," bowed at No. 37 with 27,000. "The Block" gives the band its best charting week since "Step by Step" climbed to No. 1 in 1990.

"Just a Rolling Stone" (Bad Boy), the first solo effort from former Day26 member Donnie Klang, arrives at No. 19 with 22,000. Earlier this year, the "Making the Band 4" group's self-titled debut bowed and peaked at No. 1 with 190,000.

As for the singles chart, T.I is still #1 with his song "Watever you like" and Rihanna drops down to #3, with "Disturbia", while Pink jumps up 7 places up to #2 with "So What" and Chris Brown and M.IA hold on to #4 and 5 with "Forever" and "Paper Planes"

Rihanna Has Done It Again, "Disturbia" is #1

Rihanna has scored herself another #1 hit from her “Good Girl Gone Bad” album, Disturbia has made its way to the #1 spot on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 charts.

I saw it coming, "Disturbia" is one of the best songs she’s ever made, and I can’t get enough of it. This serves Rihanna as her fourth #1 hit.

On the flipside, "Take a Bow" is a non mover at #4, Chris Brown is #2 with “Forever” and is looking to take her #1 spot next week, they’ve both been dominating the charts these past few weeks. It’s great

Congrats to Riri, she is truly one of the hottest chicks in the game right now!

Nas To Shift 200K First Week//Billboard News

According to the one-day, first day sales reports that are coming in, Nas will top next week's sales charts. His new album is set to sell around 200,000 copies in its first week. Thats enough to get Lil Wayne off the top spot.

Although im a huge Nas fan, I didnt think the album would do this this well. But this is good news.

For a third non-consecutive week, Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter III” (Cash Money/Universal) tops The Billboard 200. The set moved 125,000 copies during the tracking week, pushing the album’s total sales to 1,806,500 copies. Almost Double Platinum.

In its 58th week on the chart, Rihanna’s “Good Girl Gone Bad” (SRP/Def Jam) ascends 9-8 with 47,000, a 17% increase. G-Unit’s sophomore set, “T.O.S. (Terminate on Sight)” (G-Unit/Interscope) sold 36,000 (-64%),

Plies moves one spot up to No. 16. Definition Of Real scans 24,000 discs this week, bringing the album’s total sales to 380,200 copies.

Posted at No. 18 is Three 6 Mafia. Last 2 Walk bags up 24,300 units this week. After 3 weeks on the chart, the album has sold 138,400 copies.

Billboard News: Wayne Pushes 1,006,000 Units!

As stated last week, Lil' Wayne was projected to sell at least 850,000 albums because of his tremendous first day sales records, while peaking number one on U.S Charts, he didn't sell so well in the U.K debuting at 23 and 34 on the Irish Charts. Wayne has truly broken records and making history pulling in these astonishing numbers. This is the first album to ever sell over a million records in the first week since, 50 Cents 2005 Album, The Massacre and the biggest selling album so far this year, of course, lol. While no word is back from Lil' Waynes camp with his reactions on the great news, i'm pretty sure he's jumping for joy! Did any of you think he would do this good?? I mean I know the anticipation was high, but I didn't think he would instantly go platinum like this. Congrats to Wayne and the Universal/Cash Money Records Camp.

The rest of the results include N.E.R.D debuting at Number 7, selling around 80,000 Units and no information has been released on Plies' sales, which I believe he was probably Number 2, hopefully!

Check back later on this thread for updates and more news!

Billboard News: Ashanti Sells 86,000 / Lil' Wayne Projected to Sell 850,000 - 950,000

While the official charts aren't released until tomorrow, it has been stated that Ashanti will debut at number since, selling only 86,000 albums. Six thousand more than previously projected, so congrats to her, I think!

While in major news, Lil' Waynes CD was released yesterday and he is already certified gold isn't that amazing?? Lol... Gold in one day, he's set to be the biggest debut for a Rap Artist this year. He's projected to push no less than 850,000 albums. With the 400,000 sold on first days release, he's already secured the number one spot on the Hot 200.

It's all about Lil Wayne this week as The Billboard 200 prepares for the arrival of "Tha Carter III." The rapper's new Cash Money/Universal album will easily bow at No. 1 next week, as it leads Nielsen SoundScan's Building Chart, to be released this afternoon (June 11) at 5 p.m. ET.

Unweighted first-day sales of "Tha Carter III" at nine leading accounts through the close of business yesterday (June 10), stood at 423,000. Sources close to the album project "Carter" could shift between 850,000-950,000 in its first full week. That would easily give Wayne the biggest sales week of the year, and the best since Kanye West's "Graduation" started with 957,000 last year.

Check back later tonight, or early tomorrow for full chart report on Lil' Wayne, and the official rankings for this week. Be sure to pick up Tha Carter III!
